INKLINGS WATCHES
Inspired by Inklings
In the 1920s and 1930s, the world entered a new era where the elegance of Art Deco met the achievements of industrialization. During this turning point, watches—once considered luxury items—began to be produced at prices accessible to everyday people. Geometric forms, refined ornamentation, and technological progress converged, and timepieces were no longer objects reserved only for a fortunate few.
They evolved into artistic pieces that enriched daily life, and the door to this experience opened quietly and widely to the public.
During this broader shift, as art, knowledge, and culture became increasingly accessible, a small literary discussion group called “The Inklings” emerged at the University of Oxford.
The name carries two layers of meaning: the ink-stained hands of writers, and the spirit of exploring early, unfinished ideas, the faint sparks of inspiration yet to take shape.
INKLINGS WATCHES embodies the fusion of these two spirits.
Our culture, built upon creativity and exploration, seriousness and playfulness, research and dialogue, is deeply rooted in our brand philosophy.
We create timepieces shaped by the elegance of the past and the modern practicality born from industrial progress. By capturing both heritage and contemporary refinement, INKLINGS WATCHES strives to become a companion for everyday life, carrying both meanings within every moment.
